Rediscovering the Lost Magic of Letters
Letter Club is an ongoing snail mail dream project by Aashi, where your $5 monthly subscription helps keep the letter club running by covering postage and supplies.
In the early 2000s, letters were everything to me. As a child in boarding school, they were my only way to connect with home. I’d sit on my desk, carefully choosing my words, pouring my heart onto paper for my family miles away. Each letter carried stories of my days, questions about theirs, and a longing for home.
During vacations, I’d flip through colorful greeting cards(I was also called the 'greeting card girl'), write notes to friends and teachers, and eagerly await their replies. There was something magical about the act of writing—choosing the paper, folding it just right, sealing it with a stamp, and knowing it would travel far (some went all way to London(UK), Nepal, Sri Lanka and the USA) to reach someone I cared and thought about.
That little box of letters and cards grew with every passing year, holding memories of laughter, love, and connection. But then, as I grew older, life sped up. WhatsApp and emails became the norm, and that beautiful, slow ritual of letter-writing faded into the past. The box of letters? Tucked away, untouched, like a time capsule of simpler days.
And now, I wonder—when was the last time you received a letter? Maybe you’ve never had the joy of opening an envelope addressed just to you, feeling the weight of someone’s thoughts written by hand.
Let’s bring that back.
Tell me about your world right now—what’s on your mind, what makes you smile or annoys you, what you’re looking forward to. I’ll sit down, just like I used to, and write back to you. A letter, sealed with care, carrying words that you can hold onto and keep.
Join the Letter Club, and let’s rediscover the magic of letters together—one heartfelt note at a time.
